The combination of chemotherapy, tumor surgeries, breast removal and radiotherapy places a significant burden on the body’s defenses and can cause complex changes in the chest wall, the armpit area, and around the diaphragm. Key areas of targeted oncological scar treatment:
CURRICULUM
Oncological basics, the effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
Changes in scars and soft tissues, fibrosis, recognizing adhesions.
Indications, contraindications and precautions.
Gentle and evidence-based scar treatment.
Treatment of axillary cording.
Mobilization of the thorax: releasing fibrosis caused by radiotherapy and surgical interventions, as well as scars adhering to the ribs, to regain freer breathing and shoulder mobility.
Improving tissue function and pain relief: by releasing internal adhesions, chronic tension decreases, local circulation and sensation in the affected area improve, which greatly supports full physical and mental recovery.
Supporting diaphragm function.
Mobilization of ribs, chest and shoulder.
Supporting clients coping with cancer and body-image changes during the rehabilitation process.
