The combination of chemotherapy, tumor surgeries, breast removal and radiotherapy places a significant burden on the body’s defenses and can cause complex changes in the chest wall, the armpit area, and around the diaphragm. Key areas of targeted oncological scar treatment:

CURRICULUM

  • Oncological basics, the effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

  • Changes in scars and soft tissues, fibrosis, recognizing adhesions.

  • Indications, contraindications and precautions.

  • Gentle and evidence-based scar treatment.

  • Treatment of axillary cording.

  • Mobilization of the thorax: releasing fibrosis caused by radiotherapy and surgical interventions, as well as scars adhering to the ribs, to regain freer breathing and shoulder mobility.

  • Improving tissue function and pain relief: by releasing internal adhesions, chronic tension decreases, local circulation and sensation in the affected area improve, which greatly supports full physical and mental recovery.

  • Supporting diaphragm function.

  • Mobilization of ribs, chest and shoulder.

  • Supporting clients coping with cancer and body-image changes during the rehabilitation process.
