Why come to me for treatment and/or to learn?
about me
Who is Anikó Szekeres?
Professionally speaking: a complex rehabilitation and movement trainer, deep tissue massage therapist, pain-free scar specialist and educator, visceral and vagus therapist, yoga instructor, spine trainer, Pilates and stretching instructor, PTE vocational instructor student, and adult education teacher.
I have been continuously learning, treating, and teaching since 2008, and these are my plans for the future as well. For me, credibility starts here: I teach what I have learned, continue to learn, practice, and experience over many years.
Since 2017, I have almost exclusively participated in up-to-date international training programs.
During treatments, you receive my utmost attention and knowledge.
During training courses, I work with genuinely small groups (a maximum of 6 or 8 participants per session). Manual techniques can simply only be learned and taught properly if I can provide continuous attention and assistance.
Pain-free(!) scar management—namely, Functional Scar Integration—is deeply close to my heart.
I am personally affected by many scars myself (knee and spinal surgery, emergency C-section scar, double mastectomy with three surgeries and radiation therapy), so I know exactly how many problems certain scars can cause.
Oncological rehabilitation (where physiotherapy ends) and scar management are also deeply close to my heart. Obviously, I have experienced this in my own life as well, so I can help with this lived experience.
MOvement
In 2006, I became a Bronze-level tour guide; this was my first qualification related to movement and nature.
As both a personal and group trainer, I wanted to gain a diverse perspective on various training types, so I learned a wide range of movement forms: e.g., aerobics, indoor cycling, TRX, mobility, spine training, Pilates, circuit training, stretching, yoga, and gym workouts.
As a yoga instructor, I also hold multiple certifications: Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, restorative, pre- and postnatal, and senior yoga.
Movement is practically my life, although it is true that I did not start sports as a child, but rather as an adult.
Movement is my present, a part of my daily life: running, yoga, Pilates, cycling (gravel and road bike due to triathlon), circuit training, hiking, and kayaking.
LEARNING, EXPERIENCE, ACHIEVEMENTS
Learning. I have a very deep, very strong motivation that always drives me forward, toward new and newer courses, knowledge, and experiences.
I have a great deal of training behind me, and certainly even more ahead of me. I know many people are content with just one or two courses, but that is not me.
The fascia became a true passion. Fortunately, there are plenty of opportunities to train abroad. From smart, open-minded, humane, experienced researchers and therapists who respect each other and each other's work, and who have treated and still treat countless people for many many years—not just read about it.
This is my model, my example. I only teach what I actually use, do on a daily basis, for many many years, with visible results.
